Fragas do Eume
Atlantic riverside forest, one of Europe's best-preserved ancient woodlands.
The Fragas do Eume form a dense, damp forest along the river, with oaks, chestnuts, birches and an understorey of ferns and moss. The valley's microclimate has kept it intact to this day.
Several trails start from different points, from short walks to routes of several hours. The best known climbs to Caaveiro monastery. Check park rules and wear proper shoes.
