Headland
Estaca de Bares
The northernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, between the Atlantic and the Cantabrian Sea.
Estaca de Bares is a low headland reaching into the sea. The 19th-century lighthouse is the most visible structure and a landmark for navigation.
The point is a key migratory crossing and one of the best seabird-watching spots in the north. The landscape, windy and open, changes completely with the weather.
Getting there
About 12 km from Mañón, with a narrow final road.
