Pontedeume
The historic town of the Andrade family, with its medieval bridge over the Eume and a stone-built centre.
Pontedeume was born on a bridge. The town grew under the Andrade family, who built the castle and the convent and left a historic centre of narrow streets, arcades and carved stone houses.
Cabanas beach and the Eume estuary are a short walk away. From the castle, the view runs over the ria, the bridge and the valley towards the Fragas — one of the best town viewpoints in the district.
Getting there
At the mouth of the Eume, with an AP-9 exit and the N-651.
