Moeche
A rural municipality of soft hills, with medieval Moeche castle as a symbol of the Irmandiño uprisings.
Moeche is a small municipality of scattered parishes, meadows and lanes. The castle, rebuilt after the 15th-century Irmandiño revolts, is one of the few surviving baronial fortresses in the district.
Each summer the Festa Irmandiña re-enacts the storming of the castle and turns the village into a medieval fair. Outside those dates, the territory is silence, cattle and woodland.
